Valve is banning BioShock from the office. That’s a pretty big complement to Irrational/2K Boston.
Personally, as much as I respect the level of quality in BioShock, I don’t think I’ll be getting it. I couldn’t play it with my wife or daughter nearby since the demo freaked my wife out, and I don’t really go for the dark/scary thing myself (I don’t watch horror movies). But I played the demo and I can appreciate how well done it is; I did the same with F.E.A.R. I’m sure it merits every positive review and statement it’s getting.
I’m not sure if I should get any of the games coming out this week. Not sure if I have time right now; I still haven’t finished Fable: The Lost Chapters or any number of other things I need to work on, play through, or watch. But I’ll mention the interesting ones I saw in the ads this week.
First, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, which I suspect is awesome but I’ve never played any of the Metroid Prime games except the Hunters demo on the DS.
Then there’s Blue Dragon. This one seems pretty fun, I played the first level in the demo and my step-daughter wants me to get it because she likes watching it. The characters appeal to her. I will probably pick this one up, but maybe not for another few weeks.
Finally, Two Worlds. Sounds somewhat interesting… but then I hear it basically plays like Diablo. The graphics seem a little underwhelming to me; I don’t think they’re as good as those of Oblivion. I’m going to check some reviews of this first, and then hold off no matter what they say.
