I’m reading this right now. Haven’t gotten far yet, but it strikes me that operant conditioning techniques are right at home in organizations which value obedience in their members above all else.
…just finished it. It’s also interesting that Bartle’s player types were mentioned in passing. Probably got edited in because “killer” sounds so sinister. As I read on Twitter, Bartle pointed out recently (at Digital Shoreditch Festival 2011) that badges, points, etc. mostly apply only to achievers and not the other types.
